Schedule

VERITAS can be completed by September 30, 2004 if funding is available as requested. The schedule will be:

FY00, Phase I (First Reflector initiated):

Contracts for the first reflector (optical support structure and positioner), the first camera and the required mirrors will be prepared for letting the following year.

FY01, Phase I (First Reflector: Performance Verification):

The first reflector (optical support structure and positioner), the first camera, the first set of electronics and the required mirrors will be manufactured. The prototype unit will be evaluated and design of subsequent units modified as needed.

FY02, Phase II (Add two telescopes):

Contracts for the manufacture of the components of reflectors 2 and 3 will be prepared. Reflectors 2 and 3, along with their cameras, electronics and mirrors, will be manufactured and installed.

FY03, Phase III (Add two telescopes):

Reflectors 4 and 5 along with their cameras, electronics and mirrors, will be manufactured and installed.

FY04, Phase IV (Add two telescopes):

Reflectors 6 and 7 along with their cameras, electronics and mirrors, will be manufactured and installed.

FY05, Phase V (Array verification and operation):

The full array will be tested and qualified for routine operation.
