The Analog Devices AD8009 amplifier is a sensible choice for the front
end amplifier. General concerns include:
- a)
- Control of gain and offset variation due to
temperature and other environmental effects. The required experimental
control of gain and offsets was not clear.
- b)
- A coherent grounding plan is advisable, and was not
present at time of the review. Ground loops are a common problem of
large extended systems such as the one proposed. Careful attention to
minimizing ground loops and maintaining one clear system ground
reference will go a long way in reducing noise and improving
stability.
