Whipple 10m
The Whipple Observatory 10M Gamma Ray Telescope is located at an altitude of over 7000 feet on Mount Hopkins the 2nd highest peak in the Santa Rita Mountains, about 40 miles south of Tucson in Southern Arizona. The optical reflector is of the Davies Cotton design and comprises an alt-azimuth-mounted 10 metre dish holding 248 mirrors.
